My Lucas is One Year Old!

We had an amazing time celebrating Lucas' birthday at Legoland .  I can't believe my baby is a year old!  We decided to celebrate as a family and forego the party that we had with LJ.  When LJ turned one, we had a big birthday party for him, inviting about 75 people and let me tell you, it was so chaotic for me and chaotic for him as well I'm sure.  So this time around, we decided to go low key and just do something as a family.  We had such a fun time!  Although Lucas was not able to do the things that LJ did at the park, watching his eyes light up when he saw the scenery truly made it a special day.  I can't wait to go back there when he's able to do more things.  By the way, my baby boy's nose has an owie on it from falling.  He thinks he's mastered walking that he decided to run and fell.

Almost everything at Legoland is made up of what else--Legos!  It was really neat to see structures and characters made up of Legos.  These are some creative, very creative people.

On a boat ride to see story book characters made up of Legos!

LJ started reciting "Little pig, little pig, let me in!" when he saw this.

Jack and the Beanstalk

Hansel and Gretel

Sleeping Beauty and her Prince

Robin Hood

I can't believe how brave LJ was to ride all of the rides he rode.  These rides were pretty high and he still got on them.  I, at my current age and state, would still require A LOT of convincing and bribing to ride these rides.  My son, on the other hand, begged his dad to get on them with him.

Another boat ride with LJ.  Lucas was not able to ride this time.

One of the rides that I will never get on.  This is the one that takes you up and then drops you.  I can't handle these rides.  LJ barely met the height requirement on this ride but oh the look on his face was priceless.  He didn't know what to expect and Leo said he was so surprised when they first dropped but he ended up liking it.

These are replicas of famous structures all over the world called Mini Land.  We weren't able to go to New York, Las Vegas and other parts of the world as our time got limited.  It was so neat though to see how intricate and close to the original buildings these Lego structures are.

LJ looks like a giant about to trample on the city of New Orleans.

Letter to My Son

My Dear Lucas,
I can't believe that you're a year old!  Time flies and I want it to slow down so bad and just savor this time with you.  I love smelling your hair as you fall asleep in my arms.  I hope that you don't outgrow that.  Do you know that is one of my favorite times of the day, to be with you, rocking you to sleep and just smelling your scent?  I was so sad when I realized that your older brother did not need me to rock him to sleep anymore.   My other favorites, watching you smile and hearing you giggle.  You have such an infectious laugh that we can't help but just laugh with you.  Oh, I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for you.  Do you know that Dad and I pray for you (and your brother) every night?  We pray that you will live a fruitful life, ever increasing in the knowledge of Jesus.  We pray that you will always know God's will, have spiritual understanding, and walk in the manner that is pleasing in His sight.

Mama loves you!

"You have filled my heart with greater joy."  Psalm 4:7

Look Who's Turning One!

My sweet baby boy, Lucas, is turning 1 this Saturday.  I can't believe it!  It feels like it was just yesterday when I held him in my arms for the first time.  It's so amazing how time goes by so fast.  I want to hold on to him being a baby but it's also such a privilege to watch him grow and experience everything for the first time.

So, to celebrate, we're going to Legoland (San Diego).  I can't wait to see the look on his face (and LJ's).

What's new with Lucas?
He started walking early this week.  It's so neat to see him walking with his arms out in front of him for balance, like a zombie.  He loves to giggle, oh and does he make the most infectious squeal.  I love this baby boy of mine so much and I'm so thankful to the Lord for him.

MY AMAZING BOY!
