My blessings!

Leo and I adore our boys so much! LJ is so active and talking up a storm. He loooooves sports. He's been using my wooden spoons, anything with handles as a bat and would go up to either myself or Leo and ask us, "Hit it mom or dad!", meaning toss him the ball so he can hit it. He loves playing tackle or wrestling with his dad while our little one, Lucas, looks on. I know one day soon, he'll be wrestling with those two. Lucas is growing like a weed. He is so chunky now, so chunky that I don't have access to his neck. I was so surprised to see what was between his chin and chest when he tilted his neck back this morning! My poor baby had gross stuff on his neck and mama never knew! We've also been putting Lucas in his bumbo seat and he loves it. He gets to see a different view. He watches LJ play with his hot wheels (I have a feeling he's concocting a plan in his 3 month old mind on how to grab one without LJ noticing).

It's amazing how much love I fell stir up inside me when I look at my boys' faces. What a privilege it is that God has entrusted these 2 boys for Leo and I to raise, to glorify God. Looking at LJ, I can't believe how much he has grown! He looks like a giant compared to Lucas. Lucas, who has been smiling non-stop just makes me giddy. I love looking at him. That's all I have to do is look at him and he gives me one of his sweet smiles. Thank you Jesus! Thank you Lord for these boys.

Our prayer for our boys is that they will grow up loving and fearing God. One of the verses that I love praying over them is :

1Corinthians 16:13-14
"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love."

OUR WEDDING DAY

Here's some pics from our wedding day --June 6, 2003. We were married at Montgomery Memorial Chapel in Marin County. Our reception was at The Spinnaker in Sausalito, CA. Leo and I do our best to return to this restaurant on our anniversary. The view is just simply amazing! It is one of the happiest days of my life!

Stroll on Memory Lane

I'm feeling a bit nostalgic! As I was perusing our old pics, I came across my bridal shower pictures! I miss my friends from the Bay Area. I truly felt like a princess that day. I felt the love from all of you through the beautiful shower you blessed me with. We were carefree girls who celebrated each others birthdays together, went out to dinners, movies, plays and just had fun as single women. We were bridesmaids in each others weddings and shared so many momentous events in our lives. Now, we're all married with children and live in different cities. But despite that, all it takes is a phone call and it's as though time is standing still. I miss you guys so much and love you all!!!

The Beginning

I thought that I'd post on here how Leo and I met. We met in college when I was 20 and he was 21. He played in the basketball team and I was in the cheerleading/dance squad. It was actually one of his teammates (6'7") who asked me out first. But God intervened and Leo was very persistent. We tease each other all the time about this but according to me, Leo pursued me but according to him I pursued him. But in all honesty, he would get out of his class and wait for me outside of mine. He used to walk me to my classes while carrying my books. Eventually he transferred to Virginia to continue playing college basketball and I finished to get my Bachelor's degree in Nursing. We continued to keep in touch through the years and when the Lord saw fit, we were brought back into each other's lives again!

Many years later, he wised up! and proposed to me. He enlisted my best friend, Monica, to help him. He was living in Austin, TX at the time and I was living in Walnut Creek, CA. He flew out to CA without me knowing to propose where we first met, our college. Meanwhile, my friend asked me to drive up to our old college so, according to her, she can get a copy of her transcripts to get into graduate school. When we got up to the campus, she all of a sudden said she had to go back to the car because she forgot something. I was browsing through the different brochures at the Campus Center, when all of a sudden I felt a tap on my shoulder while this person asked, "Excuse me miss, didn't I meet you here 10 years ago?" I was in shock. I couldn't believe that he was there! I kept hitting him and finally he got down on his knees and asked me "the question". People were watching us from the balcony but I was just lost in the moment. Monica, I'm so thankful, was hiding taking pictures of the whole thing.

Here's pics of me and Leo the day he proposed to me!

I had been thinking about starting an online journal for a while now. I love to write but as my journal title states, I have 2 boys. Journaling is such a luxury for me right now. Time just seems to fly and I never have enough of it to do luxury things. But this very reason is what compelled me to go ahead and give journaling online a try. Time just flies...and I would love to capture important events in my life here.

Also,
I've been thinking about ME a bit more lately. I'm happily married to the man of my dreams, Leo. I'm currently a stay at home mom to my almost 3 year old son, LJ and 3 month old Lucas...but sometimes I feel like that's all that I am, a mommy. Don't get me wrong, I love being a mother. It's one of the most rewarding and fulfilling roles I'll ever have the privilege of being in my life. But there's a girl inside of me who would love to continue to explore the things I love and have passion for. I used to have a lot more dimension to me, I used to be so many things...

A book lover, avid reader
A terrific cook
A registered nurse
A dancer
A cheerleader
A fast driver
A workout queen
A "shop til you drop" girl
An amature sewer
A dancing queen
A fashionista
A shoe fanatic
A bride
A bridesmaid (5 times!)
A go-to friend for "great deals"
An avid traveler
A home improvement nutso
An HGTV/food network fanatic

And the list goes on and on...most of those girls are still inside me yearning to come out. But the girl I miss the most is this one:

A dedicated reader of the word of God.

I still manage to have my word time here and there but not like I used to. I used to just curl up with my bible and read non-stop. Now, I have to fit it in between changing diapers, making meals, breastfeeding etc. That's one of the desires of my heart is to have more time with my God, the lover of my soul, my Jesus.
